Do you think the dog walker story is true?
Kuklinski claims that Roy DeMeo ordered him to shoot a random guy walking a dog to prove his loyalty and Kuklinski did so without hesitation. You think that really happened?

shareyes.
shareThere's doubt as to whether he met DeMeo at all. In Philip Carlo's book he claims to have shot him dead, but this claim is refuted by a lot of people
shareThing is why would he lie ? It's not as if he's going to get into trouble is it he also said he shot someone with a crossbow to see if it worked . But they have the news paper cut outs and the death reports on that so I can't see why they would lie about the dog walker
shareSometimes killers lie to make themselves sound more badass and notorious. Henry Lee Lucas was a serial killer who was famous for confessing to over 600 murders even though only 11 have been confirmed as being done by him. Most people agree that he simply took credit for the other 589 murders for the infamy. the Zodiac Killer was the same way. He took credit to over 30 murders, but he only has 5 confirmed kills. The other kills were confirmed because he taunted the police with information that the public wouldn't know. The other kills were already in the newspaper and he had nothing to say about them that couldn't be read in the newspaper. Once again, he just wanted to increase his notoriety.

In the Iceman tapes, there are 2 documented killings:
* one where he strangles a guy who was urinating in an alley before going to a bar.
* one where he shoots 3 or 4 people on a Georgia highway who were trying to bully him off the road.
Well, and not to mention the 4 individual murders he committed at the end of his criminal career, of crime associates who might have testified against him.
The guy has done enough murders that it seems like you have to give him the benefit of the doubt.
That being said however, I also don't understand: how he gets away with all of these without leaving any trace of himself, or a witness.
I think in the Iceman Tapes, the dog walker murder is established as happening (altho we obviously have no evidence he did it except for his testimony). As with the crossbow murder.
It's funny how the random man walking a dog was changed to a homeless person in the film. I hate to say this, but I wonder if that's because the filmmakers felt the audience would care less about that. I think they purposely tried to make Kuklinski more sympathetic all-around.
shareNo.
His association with DeMeo was minimal.
In all likelihood his claim of being a hitman for the Mafia was just a fabrication.
