why make a movie based on lies
why would the mafia work with such a loser like this guy? He prob was a child murderer like his brother who raped and killed a 12 year old girl.

shareIf you wanted a guy to kill people for you for pay, who would you choose? A well-adjusted, rational and emotional family man?
shareRichard Kuklinski was a damn good liar.
By most accounts, he wasn't a Mob hitman. There's very little evidence supporting his claim of being a hired killer for Roy Demeo. He made absolutely outrageous claims like killing Jimmy Hoffa, Roy Demeo, and Paul Castalleno.
A paid Mafia hitman? When you study Mob history, when do you ever hear about a contract killer like this? People get order to kill and that is that.
And Roy Demeo paying big bucks to a contractor killer? Demeo had already had a few killers working with him in their murderous assembly line where they had their tasks set up to make the murder and body disposal go as "smoothly" as possible.
And yet, Kuklinski was good enough to get a couple books written on him and a movie supposedly based on his life.
There's little evidence on most of these guys... And while I agree that his claims are outrageous, by the 70s the Mob was nothing but Ugly Goons who lied, sold heroin and ran porn. They became involved in crap. Rico Laws destroyed them. Once in a while they come up with a good money source but eventually its dried up and they're back to selling stolen cellphones. So one side or the other, its all exaggerated
shareBecause it makes for a good movie. People are far too concerned with movies being "true stories" nowdays, like any dramtized account can be factually accurate. Its just the basis for a fictional story, simple as that.
shareWell,
You can say that about ANY movie. And no movie will EVER be made because of that reason. Your criticism is valid, but the answer is - because it's the movie industry.
The story presented in Iceman, has its flaws, but is pretty good still.
