Penis App Coincidence?

So the other night I hired Central Intelligence and Bad Neighbours 2, They both weren't the greatest movies but both provided cheap laughs which is what I was after. (C.I being the superior of the two).
There was something rather interesting though, in both movies the main character has a buddy/colleague that at the beginning of each movie mentions the invention of an app which makes your penis look bigger.

Is this lazy writing? Copying? Or were both movies made by the same studio? It just stood out as I watched them both back-to-back and the joke was made in the exact same context by similar characters. (Neither made me laugh might i add).

Sound off if you noticed this also.

It's a fugazi, fugeze, it's a wazzy, a woosie. It's all fairy dust.

How do you HIRE a movie??

Not everyone on IMDb is a native English speaker, so certain subtleties aren't always known. Such as the difference between hire and rent.

Example:
You can hire a car with driver, or you can rent a car to self-drive.
You could just shorten that and say "I hired a car", and it's implicit that you had a car with driver, whereas "I rented a car" means you got the car and drove yourself.

You hire a car and rent a house. I think your understanding is based on the US usage of the word.. Outside of the US, hire is payment for the temporary use of something while rent is a payment made by a tenant...

Ike Barinholtz wrote the screenplay for this movie and was in Neighbors (I checked he didn't write that screenplay) but may have contributed the joke. My husband made that observation but I have the IMDB acct. He made sure I gave him credit for that! BTW Barinholtz played the Russian in Eastbound and Down.
