Fake Nudity?

So according to the wiki page, all the nudity in this film was CGI or prosthetics or body doubles?

reply

according to the trivia, yes. i know nude doubles have been used before, for example going way back to julia roberts in pretty woman..

but what i dont get are the CGI titties. i mean, really? why even bother? if the actress didnt wanna show of any skin, just get her to wear a bra or something. dang.

the movie would have been just as funny.

reply

Im watching it now for the first time and I knew something was 'off'
about the tits during the breastfeeding scene.

I saw this last night and that explains why "Dr Hooters" from Big Daddy looked so strange topless. It looked like her head was planted on top of the body. I was shocked she was topless and now I know why. Just more disappointments for a disappointing movie.

reply

Yep, don't see the point of that... Either do it properly, or don't do it at all.

sometimes, they just lie and say that it was CGI so that the actresses can really show their boobs, but then have the comfort of people not knowing it was them, so that they still feel morally sound....

reply

I knew the ones that Reynolds character was kissing during the Lorno scene were prosthetics, and figured Wilde had a double, but I didn't know about Mann's CGI. Can't say I noticed it was CGI but, meh.

reply

Wilde was CGI because she wore pasties during that scene and you could see them. So they digitally erased those and replaced it with nipples. She has done nude scenes before, see Alpha Dog.

The Leslie Man topless scenes were horrendous.

The only real ones I think belonged to the pregnant lady.

I hate to mess with everyone wet dreams, but I think all of the boobs scenes were CGI and the ass shot was a body double.

reply

I can't see why they would use CG? Both main actresses have been topless before.

Well I'm guessing for Olivia Wilde that she did her nude scene in Alpha Dog she was in a position where she couldn't say no to the nudity or she wouldn't get the part, whereas in this movie her deciding not to do nudity wouldn't cost her part.

reply

While it is pretty obvious that CGI has been liberally used for the nude scenes, when are these stupid actresses going to work out "if it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, IT'S A DUCK!"

If you look nude, even if you aren't it's the same as if you were. Better to have shown the real thing and got a bigger pay cheque than this B.S.

reply

It's not the same, because if they're asked they can be honest about the fact that it's fake, and then they get to keep their integrity.

If it's the same as being really naked, then presumably, if you were an actor doing a nude scene, you'd be happy if they CGI'd in a micropenis, and said it was yours?

No, I'm guessing you'd want to say it was fake, and only go nude for real if you felt comfortable doing so... Play fair, bud!

There isn't a warning on the screen that flashes "FAKE NUDITY" at the relevant scenes. So most people would assume that, in spite of the peculiar visual effect, it is real. Integrity is out of the window because no matter what the dumb bimbo says, it's still a "duck". BTW where is her integrity when she won't show her breasts but is happy to be depicted as defecating like a cow with a bad case of diarrhoea.

reply

Plenty of people can spot that something isn't quite right about it... and even if they can't, if they visit IMDB then they have a piece of trivia that tells them so.

For the actresses sake, it means they don't have to disrobe on set, when it isn't particularly vital to the integrity of the character that they do so. If asked about it, they can cheerfully say that it isn't them, and not have to feel like they're lying, or hiding any information.

I can see that you don't respect women anyway, because you're calling them dumb bimbos, despite having presumably never met or spoken to them, and inexplicably, you're going on about ducks...

"Integrity" is personal. I would rather the nudity be real too, but I don't get to tell other people what they should be comfortable with, and what they shouldn't... Everyone has their limits.

So, you'd be happy being shown with a micropenis, and everybody assuming it's real, then?!

Truth be told I don't really know why I am bothering with this given that I found this film to be deplorable on EVERY level. Maybe I'm just annoyed that I was forced to watch this garbage when I could have been doing something productive or else it's because I just find the hypocracy to be too overwhelming to ignore. These women are saying that they don't want to disrobe for the camera (a choice I heartily agree with actually) but then allow what appears to be images of themselves disrobed for the camera. To take a moral stand and then undermine it is beyond stupid. They are bimbos because they apparently can't see the hypocracy. I gather, as you fail to see it as well, that you have a similar IQ to them and therefore see no reason to continue with the discussion.

In other words, you are an idiot. I don't talk to idiots. Go away.

reply

It's not that they're against nudity, they're just uncomfortable with it on a personal level, and since they weren't involved [just the misrepresentation of an image] there is absolutely no hypocracy in those feelings. Find me one quote where either Leslie Mann OR Olivia Wilde has said that nudity on screen is morally objectionable, and you may have a point... As it stands, you got nothin'.

Case closed. You obviously refuse to engage with me because you fail to understand my logic... I think it's for the best; you clearly aren't up to the task.

Basically, this film is committing fraud with the CGI nudity. Not to mention needlessly wasting money from its budget.

The movie-going public has grudgingly put up with breast implants and body doubles for years, but a line must be drawn at CGI titties. Is there no integrity in film anymore?

reply

Well said, cmap2. Just use a body double... keep them breastesess real.

^^^That's hilarious!!!!
