Is it good like Gummo or bad like Mr. Lonely?

In my opinion Gummo is incredible and Julien Donkey-Boy is pretty good, but Mr. Lonely was trying to hard. Despite a few scenes (really just the opening scene and the scene with the flying nun) Mr. Lonely was pretty pretentious.

So for those that have scene it, is Trash Humpers good or just pretending to be good?

korine intended it to be just like a found artifact, something you find on the street, down a back alley or in your attic. for me, it was one of the greatest cinematic experiences of my life simply because i'd never seen anything like it before. it's just like a home video. not even a film. it's not pretending to be anything and it's nothing like gummo, julien donkey-boy or mister lonely.

I agree, Gummo is brilliant and Julian Donkey-Boy is pretty good. I felt like Mr. Lonely was to Korine as Storytelling was to Todd Solondz. Trash Humpers, uh, it makes less sense to me than a Lynch film. Or maybe more, I don't know. Just try watching it all the way through- or if you have, report back, either way.

It's like Julien Donkey-Boy if Julien Donkey-Boy were more like Even Dwarfs Started Small. It's not anywhere near as good as Julien Donkey-Boy was though. Ultimately, I think it's his weakest piece. It's worth seeing once I suppose, but I wouldn't be tempted to give it a rewatch.
