Why so much hullabaloo. . .

. . .about Gemma's backside? I mean, I am female and I will admit that Ms. Arterton does have a rather pleasant backside but REALLY? Is that all the people on this message board got from this movie? I rather enjoyed the film myself--actually a LOT more than I thought I would judging from the previews. It just seems such a shame that all the comments seem to be so focused on Gemma's rear end and not the rest of her (and the other cast members') performance.

Seeing the movie itself was so bland and colourless, I guess there's not much else about which to talk.🐭

I just re-watched Tamara Drewe, finding I couldn't remember it from 5 years ago. It was really worth seeing again, especially after I saw the recent Far from the Madding Crowd (the one with Carey Mulligan), the ultimate source material before the graphic novel reimagining. It enriches the enjoyment of the story to know details of the original and how it's been changed or makes reference to Thomas Hardy's novel. It was actually very funny and touching, with excellent performances. And, as many have pointed out, Gemma Arterton looked amazing in those shorts.
