Looks great...too bad it's awful....

The set design and cinematography in this movie are excellent. Gary Oldman was great as well. It's very nice to look at exclusive of the story choices by the director. It's a shame that they are wasted on such poorly drawn characters and inept storytelling.

I'm not interested enough in the movie to go into great detail but things like Valerie stabbing her boyfriend out in the woods and him just blowing it off like it's no big deal - that was ridiculous. The movie was just ineptly stitched together with relationships between the characters left hanging or poorly developed and weird.

I think I prefer the Bugs Bunny version.

That was pretty much my reaction, as well.

I want so much to like Amanda Seyfried because she's pretty and looks so sweetand likeable, and has a great singing voice; but I've seen her in three or four movies now, and I just don't think she act AT ALL.

As far as I'm concerned, Gary Oldman is the only reason to watch this movie.

I don't want to sound bitter but I hate Amanda Seyfried. And I don't understand how she gets work. (Well she is hot so I guess it is obvious)

She is pretty dull and a little bit boring in this. She is cute, but the movie was making me fall asleep.

I thought Amanda Seyfried was the best thing happening in the movie. She was very watchable in the title role.

Gary Oldman was predictable and workmanlike in his part.

Julie Christie made a pretty good grandmother.

Virginia Madson, a fine actress, really underused, seemed to spend most of the movie lying on her back.

Billy Burke - wooden, as were the rest of the supporting cast.

Loved the original dialogue that enhanced the quality of the film (not)

"If you love her, you'll let her go."

Brings a tear to my eye.

well I won't deny Amanda is very attractive, But she is very "one tone" in almost everthing she does

so what did you guys expect him to do? stab her back? she's in danger and he also too but he wanted to protect her with all his life event when she didn't believe him (at first) because she thought he was the wolf and he understands it

Yeah, they probably did!

Some people have problems understanding the motivations of characters.

I remember when this first came out, I really wanted to see it thinking it looked great. My boyfriend and I had just started dating, and we went to see it.

The look of the movie is far different than the actual movie. The storyline wasn't very good, and though Gary Oldman was great, he was not in the movie enough to make up for the storyline and script being bad. I like Amanda Seyfried, but she needs to try and find better roles if she's going to carry a movie. I actually apologized to my boyfriend for insisting we see this movie.

Bad acting ... everything seemed so fake.
