Loved the aesthetics but the story is a snooze, Herman was miscast.

It's not funny, the characters aren't endearing, and there wasn't enough to hold my interest so I quit halfway. Herman is the center of attention. Even unfunny jokes (which is the point) can be funny if the timing and delivery are on but the actor playing Herman had no charisma and couldn't tell a joke.

It was a terrific film. It was one you can watch more than twice. Great film.

Yeah the trailer looked bad but I tried watching it anyways.. about a half hour in I wasn’t interested or entertained. It wasn’t funny or anything. Zombie is an interesting guy but this just stunk

It needed Eddie and Marilyn desperately. I get that it was a prequel and he wanted to tell a story that had never been told before, but it doesn't seem like there was enough story there to fill a 2 hour movie. Eddie and Marilyn had to enter the family somehow, so they should've been in it. Without them it felt like a kids' movie without any kid characters for its audience to relate to. And if it's too juvenile for adults, but too mature for kids, then who exactly is the intended audience?

That's how I feel about most RZ movies.
