but i hated this movie.

I saw it as really similar to Videodrome and eXistenZ, with the distinction of being outside the point of view of the protagonist.

It's just as surreal and unnerving as the other films of the series, but to be as heavily allegorical as it is, the fantastical elements are taken out. The audience sees Eric's delusions and warped reality from the outside.

yeah, but those movies are fun to watch. they're not only interesting, they're cinematic and entertaining and creative. to me cosmopolis was just a tedious, pretentious bore devoid of any joy or spark

I'm not sure why it's rated that high on imdb seems nobody liked it.

Crash is his only movie I don't like.

I liked the Lynchesque approach but... it just felt pointless
