symbolism and wordplay - spoiler

Just had a thought about the very last scene, and the wordplay combined with the symbolism. So in the Bible story, Abraham was about to sacrifice Isaac - Isaac was the sacrificial 'lamb'. Just before the end, wasn't Paul Giamatti saying the word "mutton"?
Hope that helps to give a deeper appreciation of this scene.

Very interesting correlation. I went and looked up the last bit. He does mention mutton, and then wonders why it comes to his head out of nowhere...

LOVE this bit...

Anyway you're already dead. You're like someone already dead. Like someone dead a hundred years. Many centuries dead. Kings dead. Royals in their pyjamas eating mutton. Have I ever used the word mutton in my life? Came into my head out of nowhere, mutton.
