But not men I don't think. With exceptions of course, like anything.
Not sure why. If I had to guess, I'd say it's that she does outrageous things that women project themselves into doing, and never would in real life. And then she milks it, which is great if you think it's funny, and horrible if you don't.
It's still fascinating what a gender divide there is on it though.
True and I agree, I'm a guy and I liked it. Comedy is comedy, if anything it more geared towards males, not a whole bunch of women really love this kind of comedy. I think this film really put women comedies out there. I think its rating speaks for itself, 6.8 isn't flashy but the Hangover is a 7.8, one less than that seems completely right. The Hangover I gave a 9 and this a 8, based on the fact that it is a comedy of course.
It's at 90% on Rotten Tomatoes. I never go by IMDb rating because they are so easily manipulated by the public. A lot of misogynistic creeps tried to rail on this movie by giving it a low score to prove that women were not funny. It didn't work. It was nominated for oscars in acting and screenplay (incredibly rare for comedy), made 400 million + and is one of the most quoted movies in recent years.

I'm a woman and nothing about this movie made me laugh. It was kind of insulting to have this praised as see woman can be funny too. Being pathetic and annoying isn't funny.
The only think I have found her awesome in is Whip It. But films like bridesmaids and the scary movie movies are really not my type of comedy. In fact they make me want to rip the director limb from limb.

I'm a man, and she made me laugh for years when she was on Saturday Night Live. And she made me laugh hard and often in Bridesmaids. I thinks she is hilarious, and so does my brother.
