Pleasantly surprised.

I went to this movie thinking I would hate it, as I've read the 3rd book and knew that the 3rd movie was nothing like the book.

I was very pleasantly surprised. Bridget was a loveable as always and I chuckled my way through the entire film. (as did my husband).

It was most pleasing that the way the film ended means it will lead on nicely to a 4th film following the plot of the wonderful 3rd book, if there is another film in the pipeline.

My only criticism - please stop getting Bridget to walk like a duck. It's just ridiculous and annoying rather than funny.

I loved the movie.

However, I thought the tension about the question about who is the father was heinous! If I was one of those guys I'd go crazy. I actually cried about it in the film, and I'm a very tough guy, because I liked both guys and it felt terrible to take seriously.

These movies are like comedy dramas so I did take it a little seriously.

I was sad and disappointed that both guys were nice in their own way and Bridget just dismissed the one guy at the last second and it didn't matter if he was the father or not. If I was that guy and loved Bridget and was hoping for a family and baby, I'd almost want to just die.

That kind of stuff made the second half very sad for me.

What do you think?

I disliked the way Bridget handled the unsure dad issue as well. She was bad and it wasn't funny.

I haven't laughed at a movie like this for ages. Usually, sequels aren't as good as the first movie. I think 'Bridget Jones's Baby' is up to the same standard.

I felt like the only one!

Thanks.

I don't think he actually loved her yet, though. He was in love with his algorithm, that concluded that they're 92% compatible. (Or was it 97%?)

Oh, I think he definitely liked her and was fond of her. He was attracted to her, but he wasn't quite in love with her yet.

Agreed. He was in love with the idea of her but not her. And he even told her that he wanted her to move in as long as the baby was his. What, he'd kick out a new mother if he wasn't the dad? How crappy.

I just hope this is the final installment. It was a good ending to the trilogy and I'd hate for any of the other main characters be written out if they make another.
