Box Office Let Down In America
$16 million in the states, nearly $70 million in all foreign countries. I can bet it will make more then $100 million foriegnly, but domestically it will be less then $30 million. Any Takers who disagree?

shareI'm sitting here with my head in my hands - The more £££££ it makes, the more likely yet another sequel will be made - Oh dear!

A movie that sides with the underdog, that isn't high glamour and all about life's "winners" It also commits the mortal sin of the American in it not being the one who ultimately wins Bridget's heart. Why should then we surprised it hasn't done very well in the US.
Americans can never normally get their heads around much from beyond their shores unless it either apes their own culture and outlook completely, or they're portrayed as the greatest thing ever.
Oh, fûck off. If it didn't do as well here as the previous BJ films, that has nothing to do with her choosing Mark over Jack. Americans LOVE Colin Firth. He won an Oscar. But the industry has changed over the past decade. Films that might have been commercial hits then are struggling now at the Box Office, especially small-scale human stories like this one. And British actors are thriving here too. Eddie Redmayne, Cumberbatch, Emily Blunt, etc. etc. Americans are just as accepting of Brit actors/films as you are of ours, if not more so. R we even eligible for your awards? No...I didn't think so.
I liked the movie. I liked Jack, but figured she would end up with Mark. It was inevitable. Fine, who cares. It's a romantic comedy. And BTW Jack said his big crush was Lady Mary from Downton Abbey. What more do you want? Especially considering that character turned out to be nothing more than a shallow, pasty, beady-eyed shrew with a Posh accent.
It's doing so well foreignly. 100 million overseas is such a massive accomplishment.
share$120 million overseas already and it hasn't been updated yet. The American BO hasn't really been relevant for a while now unfortunately. If it's not a superhero movie (a predictable Marvel one at that) it won't make $$$$ in the USA. Was at least hoping $50m in the USA for this but nope!
shareIf it's not a superhero movie (a predictable Marvel one at that) it won't make $$$$ in the USA.You mean like Sully ($113m so far), Don't Breathe ($86m, $10m budget), Bad Moms ($112m), 10 Cloverfield Lane ($72m, $15m b), Central Intelligence ($127m), The Conjuring 2 ($102m), Sausage Party ($97m, $19m b), The Shallows ($55m, $17m b), etc...

shareThat article makes valid points.
It's that man again!!
The movie grossed over $200 MILLION worldwide over $180 million OUTSIDE of the USA. This proves Renee is still a huge star overseas.
