Alice character should have been slapped!
What a stupid, narcisstic piece of crap she was! She is the epitome of a young, arrogant boss and I wish Bridget had done something to her at some point.

shareOK, so do the Brits pronounce Alzheimers as "Alz-HEIM-ers" or was that just her crap accent thing?
Yes, she was annoying but I was almost too distracted by her male colleagues to notice. They kept talking about their "ironic beards" but all I could see was those awful "man-buns." God I hate those things.
I'm from North England so it's definitely possible I pronounce it differently to the southerners but up here, we pronounce it "Alz-EYE-mers"
shareOK, that is different. In the US we pronounce it "ALTZ- hi -mers".
Question, was that kind of a classist or regional prejudice agains that girl, to portray her as being so awful? Bridget has more of a Southern accent, not Posh exactly but kind of standard. Darcy sounds Posh to me, and so did Daniel. So her new boss who comes across as awful happens to have a Northern accent? That's kind of the sense I got. But I am American so I don't know.
The actress who plays Alice is from the North West but the accent she had in BJB sounded more Southern than that to me but it's definitely possible that's what they were going for. There's always been a sort of divide between the North and South and Northerners are usually portrayed as stupid, classless or rude.
shareHere it would be the opposite. Not that long ago the Alice character would be coming into a New York TV station with a thick Southern accent and be portrayed as stupid, shallow. phony. But that's not really the case any more. Once Bill Clinton became President, a Good Ol' Boy with an Arkansas accent who even his enemies admitted was as sharp and articulate as they come. That's when that tide started to turn, IMO.
shareI thought Bridget's speech was enough, to be honest. Though it would have been nice to see her booted out of the studio or something at the end.
