Hella old

I know people are having children older now, but come on! A baby movie where everyone is in their fifties?! Colin is 55, Patrick is 50, and Renee is 47. Puh-leeze.

Maybe refreshing for people who are the same age?

Many women have children in their 40s. Just because you live under a rock doesn't mean this film didn't need to be made.

Colin is 55? Wow, I didn't know that,

Patrick looks pretty darned good for his age.

The thing that bugged me was Bridget refusing to get the Amnio. I know it was a necessary plot point, I guess. But the fact is women at that age face much higher risks of babies down Downs Syndrome, etc. IRL the doctor would have been more upfront about that, as a matter of professional ethics and even legality. She never would have let her wander out of the office because of the size of the needle. She probably would have made her sign something, in fact.

That and the romantic church wedding. It was lovely and all but at what point do you draw the line? I kind of preferred the way they handled it on that show "Catasprophe" where they did it at the courthouse with her in a normal dress. I think it's fine and all, given their history. Maybe it was for the parents and posterity. But in her situation, I would feel kind of odd about wearing a long white dress at a church.

The baby wasn't planned.

I keep thinking that. These people are way too old for this to actually happen. I know Bridget was supposed to be 43 in this, but she looked more 53. Through the whole movie, all I could think is that this would not be happening because she is probably going through menopause.
