I think that the cinemas would have needed to contact elderly homes and shuttled residents there like they do for voting for this movie to succeed.
Seriously though it is a neat movie that just finishes the series.
They have both aged a bit and that is taken into account in the movie timeline.
At no point do they say this happened right after bridget jones 2 or a short period of time later
if you're extremely lucky, you might even get to be so, "old".
