I love me some BRIDGET, but her FACE!!!!!!!
I like Renee a lot and always liked her playing Bridget, but it was so hard to watch this because of her face.
WHY RENEE??? WHY???????

WHY RENEE??? WHY???????
In my opinion, her face didn't look as bad in the movie as it does in photos.
But I agree with your sentiment: WHY RENEE??? WHY??????
Why, Carol Burnett? Why, Mary Tyler Moore? Why, Faye Dunaway? Ad nauseam ...
Oh it pretty much does. The scene where she is wearing glasses in the studio, was to the point of being weird looking. Okay we all got a little older from the first movie, but the chubby Bridget in the first was very sexy...
shareI agree. For some reason she looks more like her old self in this movie. I have seen pictures, saw her on Ellen and another movie where she was practically unrecognizable.
I love Renee. I hate that she didn’t let herself age gracefully. It was very distracting. She was stunning in the first two movies.
Trolls Need Not Apply
You're obviously brainwashed by the media. If they repeat it enough, you believe it. It doesn't seem to me like she had any plastic surgery. She only looks older but still beautiful. To me, because she didn't gain weight this time, even more beautiful than in the second movie at least.
shareHer mouth is definitely different. The eyes probably did get some work.
shareOh please! It’s painfully obvious she had work done, particularly around her eyes.
Trolls Need Not Apply
But if she did have work done, how do you know it was cosmetic? Her hooded eyelids might have been impairing her vision. Who knows. You're not her doctor.
shareShe has Sami blood, hence the scrunched up eyes from earlier in her career. I suspect these became stranger looking later so she got some plastic surgery.
sharei have Sami blood. My eyes are not scrunched up.
We are pale Northern Europeans and we don't age well. that's life.
What is Sami blood?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sami_people
The Sami people (also Sámi or Saami, traditionally known in English as Lapps or Laplanders) are an indigenous Finno-Ugric people inhabiting the Arctic area of Sápmi, which today encompasses parts of far northern Norway, Sweden, Finland, and the Kola Peninsula of Russia. The Sami are the only indigenous people of Scandinavia recognized and protected under the international conventions of indigenous peoples, and are hence the northernmost indigenous people of Europe.[8] Sami ancestral lands are not well-defined. Their traditional languages are the Sami languages and are classified as a branch of the Uralic language family.
Traditionally, the Sami have pursued a variety of livelihoods, including coastal fishing, fur trapping, and sheep herding. Their best-known means of livelihood is semi-nomadic reindeer herding. Currently about 10% of the Sami are connected to reindeer herding, providing them with meat, fur, and transportation. 2,800 Sami people are actively involved in herding on a full-time basis.[9] For traditional, environmental, cultural, and political reasons, reindeer herding is legally reserved only for Sami people in some regions of the Nordic countries.[10]
Thanks! I looked it up and what appeared first was the movie of that title ("Sami Blood). Looks like a good film. I will try to watch it if I can find it. And yes, I think Renee does look a bit like that.
shareagree with you - up to a point. i can't see what she's supposed to have had done to her face.
and her weight?
couldnt give a flying kufc
I think she looks normal too. I've seen photos that make me question it, but in the movie she looks Anyone who has aged normally
shareI know this doesn't make sense, but while her face looks different in real life, in the movie (other than being a decade older) her face looks exactly the same to me.
Also, I find this whole negativity about the plastic surgery extremely shallow. If her face was burned like Freddy Krueger, maybe I could understand that it was hard to watch.
Please replyshare
Problem is more that she is actually unrecognizable. Which is a bit of a problem for a famous actress! I recently saw The Whole Truth - and did not realize it was her until about half way thru the movie.
She has also lost many of those subtle facial cues that people have due to such extensive surgery. It's a bit harder to convey certain emotions or reactions when one can't move ones eyebrows, or mouth, or cheeks, jaw.. etc.
I'm sorry but getting older does not make the bottom half of your face barely move. It's obvious stuff has been done whether the media states it or not the evidence is in this ntros movie.

Why do people have the need to put woman down just becouse they want to look younger. Grow up and lets talk when you get older.
shareBecause vanity is not an attractive trait.
shareI don't think people are putting women down because they want to look younger.
We are / were fans of the Bridget Jones character and / or Renee but we are alarmed that she looks not younger, nor worse... but more like...
A TOTALLY DIFFERENT PERSON.
http://gawker.com/here-are-some-pictures-of-renee-zellweger-1648827025
She got rid of all the facial features that made her distinctive and adorable - the features that we fell in love with in the first place.
Now, she is just another random blonde. I understand the intense pressures to stay young in Hollywood, especially for women - but you can go Demi Moore and Sharon Stone or you can go Courtney Cox.
It's Jennifer Grey Redux. Jennifer messed up her nose and Renee messed up her eyes.
And how old are you ?
shareto the previous poster, I think more people have an issue with the fact that half these women spend so much time denying it instead of being honest.
Why deny if it you've got nothing to be ashamed about ??
Therein lies something else- most, not all, ladies who correct their looks surgically live to regret it.
So perhaps growing old gracefully is the better option. Just an opinion.

i agree. it was painful to watch. already the first scenes. her skin looks so tense that it will snap. in a church scene when she laughed it looked as if robot tries to smile.
i am not blaming her or anything. it's her body and her face and she is free to do whatever she wants to it. but seriously. you would have to be blind to not see that this is not just aging like some people try to say. natural aging does not affect your mimics. but her face was like taken apart and put wrongly back again. i have watched only 6 minutes and her face already scares me. that laughing was like how you would describe laughing to a machine "rise the both ends of your lips so that the tooth will be visible and do a panting sound". aging does not make your face emotionless but that is what i saw in her face.
as i said it is not our business what she does to her body but it is still sad.
she has a potential to be very cute woman .....maybe some wrinkles here and there ....but this tight not-moving skin and facial muscles is not pretty. julianne moore is almost ten years older and her natural look is breathtakingly beautiful. same goes for cate blanchett (same age as renee zellweger). but with renee zellweger it looks as if some of her facial muscles have been cut through so that the expressions don't look normal any more. i seriously hope that it's just botox she uses because the effects of that will after some time run out. and if this is the reason .....i seriously hope that she will not going to use it again .......
well after i watched the whole movie i would say that she is still good looking and cute but i am not taking back anything i said before. very good example from the same movie is emma thompson. she is ten years older than renee zellweger but she is natural and sooooooooooooooooooo sexy.
shareYeah, I agree. That Joan Rivers "frozen face" look is so unattractive.
shareI think she would have looked better if she had just left it alone, too. That said Renee is not classically beautiful like Moore and Blanchett are. She was always more cute and quirky.
shareI agree with others that her face doesn't look as altered in this movie, as I have seen from photos. It was weird, though, that in some shots she looked like a different person, and in others, she looked like the same old Renee. I can't judge her because it was obvious to me that she was not aging real well. If she hadn't had the surgery she might have been bullied about that and how old she looked. I think it was just her eyes that were really altered. It is an interesting point that her famous and cute squinty look may have been from her ethnic heritage, and could have gotten really unattractive with age. She may not have had a choice.
