My Review

I want to start by saying that I loved the first Bridget Jones movie and I really enjoy the characters. However, I must also say that I am so glad I only rented this movie. First of all for a romantic comedy this wasn't even romantic, it was more of a rush to show her having sex with 2 guys so she could get pregnant and then after that all semblance of romance was dropped. I was disappointed that there wasn't much catch up with the characters, how/when/why did Bridg and Mark end? When/Who did he marry? Also it would have been nice to have a bit of catch up to see what her friends were doing instead of just giving all of them children and putting them in the background. God forbid any of the characters have dimension. It also seemed that with this installment they replaced all fat jokes with old jokes, that got tired quickly. And why did they drop Miranda so fast after Bridget got pregnant, it's like she was a huge character in the first half hour then she was forgotten. The whole magic of the original was Bridget in life, in work, with her friends, family and dating and this one just felt off, stale and very one dimensional. I was surprised at how disappointed I was considering the reviews were generally favorable. Did anyone else feel this way?
