First 10 minutes of a 78 minute long film is spent watching an impossible to like couple eating their dinner - I kid you not. The rest of it was like it was written by an excited 17 year old.
I half enjoyed the opening 10mins as it felt like a 'normal' situation whilst eating dinner.
Once the 'invaders' get in the house the film goes wrong. Home invading kids talking a load of crap about whether one of them should call another guy to buy him a drink from the shop, or a guy calling his mum to sky+ a fim.
The end.... I don't even know how to describe the end, I have heard the director discuss why he put that end on, but his reasoning does not make up for the fact it was a crap decision.
It was the worst home invasion film I have ever seen.
Completely disagree. I'd say this is one of the best. The characters and dialogue is all so real. Well done to everyone involved in this film! Saw a little of the behind the scenes and much respect to the director and cast. All the best with your future works.
You're kidding right? This film is Sh*t with a capital 'S'.
The first ten minutes were pointless. There was a suggestion of a possible affair but it wasn't explored. There was mention of a son out playing football with his friends and there was a discussion about whether or not the t.v. should be on. No atmosphere, no real set-up, no chance to 'like' the characters. I should have taken my cue from the first ten minutes and stopped watching.
The dialogue was flat, there's always one 'nice' guy who talks about a line that's not to be crossed and there's always a guy who clearly has no brains, speaks only of violence and is clearly the one that we are all meant to 'fear'. Ooo and who knew that the dad would be left on his own and somehow manage to get a knife and have his revenge? Same old, same old. This film was rubbish from start to finish, was completely lacking emotion, badly written and not something to be proud of.
There are far better home invasion films out there which will put this one into perspective. Check out 'Them' at least.
Sorry Spike, I'm afraid your life is mine; I hated 'Funny Games'.
I agree that the end of 'Them' wasn't great but I think that it's one of the better films in the home invasion 'genre'. TBH, I'm starting to get sick of them as they're pretty much all the same.
