Drugs Are a Helluva Drug

I am always up for a B horror mystery, especially if it’s a weekend getaway and especially especially if it’s during a snowstorm.

But I think everyone behind the camera and half the cast must be on heavy SSRIs or recreational crap that inhibits their senses. Because this is half baked. And it feels very thrown together. Single takes only.

That said, there are successes. The Ed character, the actor, his dialogue, his delivery, all pretty great. It could have been taking further but he was a breath of fresh air.

I did notice the movie is dedicated in loving memory to the director, so maybe there is more to the story. Maybe that’s why the run time is truncated. Maybe that explains the sketchy plot and the unconvincing developments. Maybe his crew manfully finished the project after a tragedy? If so, kudos to them. That’s awesome. At the end of the day, I’d still say this movie is worth a watch for people like me.

(But that wig on the mid at the end, holy hell! What was that? And I don’t even remember seeing any snow. Like zero. But the snowstorm is pretty bad, allegedly. I would have switched the roles of the two young women, too.)
