Lovely but Lethal......
Did anybody else notice that Vera Miles beauty mark on her right cheek completely disappeared for a couple of scenes?! My husband and I kept waiting for that to tie into the plot somehow.

shareIf it disappeared and reappeared between shots in the same scene, it would be a continuity error. But if it disappeared and reappeared between entirely different scenes, it would actually tie into the plot. Her beauty mark was fake, after all.

Yes, rosarypliers, you are absolutely correct! I specifically remember Columbo commenting on her lack of beauty mark. She said she hadn't had a chance to "put it on" yet. After making a big fuss about being a redhead and not using a black eyebrow pencil, Columbo asked her what she used to "put on" her beauty mark. Answer: black eyebrow pencil!
shareI totally missed Columbo saying that! Thanks!
shareyou bet! I'm a Columbo junkie!
shareWhat was bugging me the the non moving wig-like hair. She would have been so much prettier with natural hair!
Did you find the Columbo book we were talking about? I saw it on Amazon.
I just looked that day but didn't find it then got sidetracked. What was the name of it again? I seem to have misplaced my little note.
I did find "The Colossal COLUMBO Quiz Book" which is quite interesting & fun.
All the info is in the Any Old Port in a Storm thread.
Oooooh a Columbo quiz book! That sounds fun! Are you buying it?? You can start some great threads then!

That hair was a bit strange but then again it was 1973 and fashions were not brilliant. Just look at that fashion show towards the beginning where she was with the Vincent Price character and the secretary with the starey eyes. Nice turban on her head and the background extras were dressed in rather unpleasant clothes.
shareI've always felt bad for that secretary. Yes, she knew about the murder and was very much complicit with Miles but I also couldn't help to feel sorry for her for being so naive and gullible, especially when it cost her her life.
shareI thought it was a shame that her death was never exposed as a murder. Not even investigated, in fact.

Her nail polish also changes when she's in Martin Sheen's apartment.
