shareSchool shootings will never ever ever ever ever be considered funny. So absolutely not. Jesus man...
shareMaybe not to you. But dark humor is quite popular. Hell, people make 9/11 jokes, Holocaust jokes, etc.
shareIn mainstream film? No. Stand up "comedy", perhaps. I find dark humor funny but there's a threshold. Shock for shock sake, especially when those types of shootings continue to happen are not even remotely funny to me.
"Hey, did you hear the one about the elementary school kids that got gunned down with their teachers?" Yeah, no.
Is postal considered mainstream? Uwe Boll movie with a 9/11 sight gag.
shareExactly. What made Hogan's Heroes funny was that it was a POW camp, NOT a Concentration Camp. Also, the bad guys, the Germans not only never won, but wee portrayed by Jews. Robert Clary (Cpl LeBeau) actually spent time in a Concentration Camp.
I can see where the survivors might have some ways of making light, but only within that small community. For outsiders to do so would be horrific.

Thank you, I was trying to think of the name of the movie.

Spoiler alert if you haven't seen American Horror Story Season 1... Similar themes were covered when Tate is being tormented by some other teens and it turns out that he was a school shooter and the teens were the ghosts of his victims. Not the exact scenario, but close.
shareHow is this considered to be close?
Ahs is not comedy, it became laughable after season 2 but still not comedy
This is a deconstruction of crazy hillbilly movies like Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Hills Have Eyes, and Deliverance. It's making fun of fictional situations.
Making fun of serious events is never cool. Imagine if this had been about the Columbine Shooting and showing it as all just a goofy misunderstanding.
Is this a troll topic? I'm sorry, but I can't imagine how anybody would think this is a good idea.
That's exactly what I was thinking... a comedic parody about the backwoods hillbilly horror genre can be enjoyed by anyone, but trying to make a comedic parody about specific, non-fictional occurrences like Columbine, 9/11, etc, is only going to turn people away. It will pretty much never happen mostly because 99% of films (FILMS, not youtube videos or amateur "shorts") are created to make money, and if you make a black comedy about the Columbine shootings you've already cancelled out half of your potential viewers before you've even released it.
