OMG we're in so much danger, let's go develop some photos!

Really? This seemed like a ridiculously stupid thing to do, even considering the rest of the film and it's... badness. Just sayin, was this how it went down in the book? Cause what a colossal waste of time, developing photos from film takes so much work, they deserved to be caught. Oye.

in the book the girl was staying back at school to develop the photos, she just happened to get unloucky enough that the mogodorians were searching it after hours for evidence of number4. he then rushed to school with no concern for his own stealth.

That sounds better. it was so stupid in the movie, just an obviously huge time waste and bad decision. Glad at least the writer made a better decision with that. From what I've heard the book is a lot different/better than this movie.

Yeah, I agree that it didn't make sense in the movie. It was fine in the book. It's kind of like having the quarterback with them at the end - in the book it totally makes sense, in the movie it doesn't at all.

It's like the screenwriters didn't read their own work start-to-finish - like they took the major stuff from the book but deleted the stuff that got them to those points and therefore things didn't really connect.

they never do, thats y they always have plotholes and mistakes, like in spiderman 3, u could see the chains holding his web up and sooo many plotholes it ruined it

Wow. Okay yeah I just watched this film, and I have to say I didn't find it very interesting. To be honest the lead guy playing Number 4 was dull as a rock, I couldn't help but laugh at everything he said. I don't know if it was just the script or his delivery, and he kind of spoke like he was slow or foreign maybe?

The developing photos at the school thing just sunk the whole ship. I mean it was already going down for me but that was just too ridiculous. I'm glad to hear this wasn't the case in the books. So is this book series any good. Movie aside?

Honestly the whole movie I kept thinking. Man that kid who plays Sam is like my idea of Peter Parker. Oh Number 6 coming in was also interesting but I really didn't understand her powers, and by the way she dusted those two bad guys with her Nightcrawler teleporting powers I just kept thinking she could single-handedly mop the floor with all of them. I mean just pop up behind them and BAM knife them in the back. She doesn't even really have to be so flashy about it. I mean as far as I could tell they didn't have any powers going for them, just some point & shoot guns. If their parents had the same powers. How did those aliens even overtake their planet?

So many questions, but I'm scared to read the books and find out they are just as bad as the movie. Are they?

That made me laugh too, it was just so stupid. It's clear they don't spend enough time on the scripts. They could have fixed this and many other less significant faults (some bad dialogue) in pre-production. All it took was a little careful reading and common sense. But no, they go ahead with it; shooting yourself in the foot feels so good. However, I think the movie was still enjoyable by today's standards and I had a good time (Teresa Palmer was awesome).
