From what I can tell, it seems as though she wont be appearing in this film which sucks.

However, in the trailer, Malcolm (Martin Lawrence) is still wearing a wedding band which implies that he is still married to Sherry (Long). But Sherry is no where to be seen in the trailer nor is she mentioned on any websites with info on this film.

Will Sherry be simply written out with a reasonable explanation such as "gone on vacation" or "on a business trip" or unfortunately "death".

I say the vacation thing or killing her off would be more reasonable. She could be on vacation with her girlfriends or she couldve died shortly after the events of Big Momma 2 in a car crash or something involving one of Malcolm's cases and was shot in a crossfire. Killing her would add more seriousness to the story.

If Sherry is killed off, the wedding band thing could be a part of Malcolm's struggle to let go or there could be some tension between him and Trent because they are both still grieving.

They just wont show her she wasnt even in the main story line in the 2nd one

True. Forgot about that. Matter fact, Trent BARELY was in it. he only had 2 brief/irrelevant scenes. now he's the star of the movie when he was a supporting character in part 1 and a cameo in part 2.
