I realize the last movie was well over six years ago, but never in the previous installments was it ever mentioned, much less hinted at that he had a son... Assuming he became a father after the second one, no way would the kid be a teenager... How are they gonna explain this?? How much time do they think has passed??
shareIt's his stepson, Trent and probably only 4 to 5 years have passed. Wasn't Trent about 13 in the last one? He's 17 in this one.

But one thing I dont understand is how they make it seem like Trent is his biological son. In the first two films, Trent refers to Malcolm as just Malcolm. In this one, he calls him "Dad" and Malcolm calls him "Son". There's nothing wrong with that but I think the Big Momma series has jumped the shark

In the 2nd one Malcolm called him son, and Trent might have called him Malcolm but he was young.....years have passed, Trent grew up and now Trent probably calls him dad because he realizes he's been the only stable father figure in his life. it makes sense you guys are just over thinking it.
