For those who are not sure-just to clarify about this movie...

This movie is supposed to follow the first Big Momma's House, not Big Momma's House 2. Which is why we don't see the baby. Martin has apparently has in intervies that this movie is suppose to be rebooting the franchise, meaning it's ignoring Big Momma's House 2 and is the "real" I guess second sequel to the first film. It's kinda hinted throughout the film too. Not only is there not a baby, but in this film Trent is still getting used to Martin's character being his dad(he doesn't even call him dad til the end) and I'm pretty much sure in the second film(which I saw that theaters too), that Trent was calling Martin dad/referring to him as dad.

lol that was pretty much a cop out. even with that explanation there are still a lot of plot holes issues

Calling it a reboot doesn't work as well and certainly is not necessary, in my opinion. The other kid doesn't need to be explained. Many different situations are possible (the younger kid is looked after on the retrreats, or the younger kid stays with another relative when the mom goes on her retreats because Malcolm has to work hours that don't allow him to take care of a young kid, or maybe the younger kid isn't alive any longer, or whatever)--it doesn't matter, because the plot of this film has nothing to do with the younger kid.
