Not enough trees

Of all the implausible and ridiculous plot lines in this movie, and there were dozens, this was the worst. There weren't enough trees on that truck to fill the lot ONCE let alone please as many customers as they did to make over 20 grand. If there were enough trees, with as busy as it was on the 16th, it would have been empty within a very short period thereafter.

Given an average between the number of $50 and $200 trees on the lot, there would have been about 300 trees on that truck. Was it Narnia?!

I don't know why that bothered me so much, but it was like a bottomless cup of coffee. It's too much fantasy to make the rest of the depressing story palatable.

Sadly, you are right regarding the very few trees they had.

AND, 200 bucks ist really too much dough for one of those trees.

reply

Exactly. Wondered about how they were gonna make even 15 grand when the truck was first shown. Since I've never paid more than $50 for an 8-foot tree off a lot, I was glad I didn't live in New York, where this movie states $200 is not an unreasonable price. And before they even make the first sale, Rudd is just moving trees here and there like a kid playing with food on his dinner plate. Then when the floodgates open, and they start selling trees, the number of trees doesn't change. These were minor problems compared to the whole storyline.

Insufficient tree plothole totally worth it for the "Narnia" remark.
