Drop to No.3 on Monday
It's legs are pretty weak. I think word of mouth is starting to spread.

shareIt's toast. Mission Impossible has already made more than Indy worldwide in its first day of release.
shareLooks like Cruise is going to have another hit this year.
shareHow much has it made so far?
shareAs of two days ago it was 250 mil ww. I'd assume about 300 mil by now. So, that' covers the officially announced budget, but not promotional costs. It might crawl to 350 or 400 mil but not much more.
shareNo I meant how much for Mission Impossible.
shareNot sure if it was confirmed but I heard WW estimates in the 200 million range.
shareMaybe I'm reading this article wrong but it really doesn't sound much better than indys preview and opening weekend..

Plus it's just as expensive a film. Seems like the press was more negative to Indy as well....
It would be an interesting study of how those 2 compare, the last movies of both franchises did similarly in box office, and with similar budget.
Again now their latest movies are also with similar budget, let's wait and see how they perform compare to each other.
That’s another legendary IP immolated by Kathleen Kennedy. Are they finally going to fire her failing woke ass??
You seriously have to wonder if Lucas, just before insisting she take over the reigns of Lucasfilm, looked at Spielberg and their damaged reputations after the Prequels and Crystal Skull and said… ‘Don’t worry, we’re going to look like kings after this…’
It is a bit disturbing how everyone views Lucas as some sort of infallible god now, even though he had dragged Star Wars/Indy through the mud himself, and at the time of the Disney purchase was not viewed in a very favorable light.
We still don't have the original SW films in a proper format because of his destructive meddling/attempting to rewrite history with the Special Editions.
It obviously wasn't planned, but him selling to Disney was probably the best thing he could have done for his own long-term reputation.

You say "we", but I've seen plenty of people with this mindset, and with the notion that Lucas' sequels would have been great... even though they sound like shit, with the little we do know.
Do you think Kennedy failed on purpose? They both put out crappy products, and while one is worse and has more of an agenda-driven aspect, I believe both thought they were doing a good job. And both don't want to admit to faults or flaws.
Lucas became extremely stubborn, and surrounded himself with yes-men who would do his bidding. Even Spielberg was subject to this with Crystal Skull, and he refused to tell George just how dumb his ideas were. He suppressed the release of the original SW films on DVD/Blu-ray (which we're still suffering for today), and he deserves an eternal fuck-you for that.
KK's products are no doubt worse - she never had the talent or was a good creative like Lucas used to be, and wants to push an agenda. Modern Lucasfilm and Disney are dogshit. But I'm tired of this mentality where people have trouble holding non-opposing viewpoints - Disney bad, so Lucas must be good. Indy 5 bad, so Crystal Skull suddenly good? No, both have serious issues.

In conclusion.. a sorry state of affairs decades in the making leading up to this tragedy.
