For the longest time, couldn't figure out why modern made westerns look off..this shows why...

For some time, modern-day made westerns have often not looked visually correct and this movie reinforces that and a large part is simply poor costume design. What I mean is, when I sat to watch this flick, it looked so inauthentic because all the clothes worn look exactly like they are just off the rack and are brand new.

Even the initial set designs looked out of place and brand new or purposely created for filmmaking. I had to turn it off after ten minutes.

modern westerns often look like tech billionaires playing cowboys

You're not wrong. The cleanliness does play a role in undermining their authenticity. I think if someone like David Ayer ever makes a western, you'd feel the griminess and filth from the production design.

Everybody is very clean looking, the indoor and outdoor sets look like a quaint Cracker Barrel restaurant and glass windows were exceedingly rare in the old West...try to get panes of glass a thousand miles over rough road on an ox wagon through wild storms and pissed of Indians.
