Anthony's ammo belt
If this has already been discussed, I am sorry I missed it. I looked at the entire board and didn't see it.
Anthony carried a 200 round belt of 308 ammo with disintegrating links, set up for an M-60, and never once had an M-60 available for use (except possibly early on).
If he was just carrying it "in case" he ran across a machine gun (that used that particular ammo), He would have, as an experienced soldier, (which he had become by then) packed it away in his kit, since carrying it like that allows for being ground into the dirt, damaging the ammo, or expose it to corrosion, or popping links, and losing the belt entirely.
I was a Combat Medic in an Infantry unit in Viet nam, and while some of the guys carried their ammo that way, it was for short periods only, the belts were the first used, and extra ammo was carried in 100 rd boxes in a two box package.
I realize it was for the sake of "looking bad" in a Hollywood manner, but it rankles.
Not as big an issue, I realize as some of the other things like poor writing, plot holes and Kumbia moments in the finale, but still.
