Why are poeple continually making remakes of movies that AREN'T that old. The movie "Dear God" had the same EXACT plot and came out...what...ten years ago?

The movie Dear God is about a postal worker who starts his co-workers answering "dear god" letters from many different people. It's a comedy.
Letter's to God is about a boy who is dieing from cancer. And how it affects a postal worker. A drama.

No you are wrong. Maybe if you read the story line or say perhaps ....saw the movie. You could make a better comment on the movie. The movie is actually based on a true story. Not a totally fiction story like the one you mentioned and ones that others mentioned.
I would encourage you to actually see the movie. No it doesn't have breath taking hollywood effects in it. but it does show us that there is hope. And a way to find that hope.
