This was . . .

HORRIBLE.

One of my favorite (and I'm an agnostic) "films" of all time is Franco Zeffirelli's mini series, Jesus of Nazareth. It was brilliant. It was uplifting. It was fantastic. Watched it about ten years ago with my Dad and bet I've watched it 20 times since.

I guess today's Christian movies are dumbed down. This movie was absolute crap. As one reviewer said (only 1 reviewer liked it on RT btw) "God, please, make it stop." And I read some of these self-serving posts about, "oh please pray for the non-believer" blah, blah, blah. that is solely derived out of the fear of those posters as they KNOW they are wrong. They KNOW there is no god, or, at a minimum, it is highly unlikely. Wasn't Jesus supposed to be here about 10 years ago? What utter ignorance.

Ben Hur was also a great Christian movie. It is one of my favorites of all time. But this? Talk about a Christian circle jerk. My god, if you wanna convert people, at LEAST hire Mel Gibson for more Christian torture porn.

Now go and try and comfort yourselves by doing the "he needs God's love" BS. If there was a God, I swear I'd pray for you misguided souls. You lead the deadest lives. You have no thoughts but for those injected in your heads by the Televangelist du Jur. Pity you actually believe God does not want yu to think fr yourselves.

Yeah. I saw it. I gave it a 1. Pity it's not 100 years in the future. Maybe I could get a memory wipe.

And finally, you can still be Christian and have some taste and class.

Mel Gibson is atleast capable of making a decent movie. I'm not judging by the Passion of the Christ, though, I barely saw any of that and it didn't appeal to me.

Most Christian films are pretty bad. Most are extremely low budget with very little talent - directing or acting - involved. The latter applies to most American movies in general, though, IMO. I'm curious if there are decent religious-themed foreign films I might be missing.
