A Truly Inspiring Film

Honestly, browsing these threads made me think of the St. Thomas Aquinas quote:

"To one who has faith, no explanation is necessary. To one without faith, no explanation is possible."

Then, some of his other wisdom hit me and is just as appropriate...

"The things that we love tell us what we are."

Those that love God and the message of this movie stand apart from those that post hate here hoping to drag others down.

"Three things are necessary for the salvation of man: to know what he ought to believe; to know what he ought to desire; and to know what he ought to do."

Again, those that post ignorant hate have no clue what they ought to believe, desire or do. It's quite sad when you stop and think about it. Worse, they want others to be as lost as they clearly are and actually fight to make it so. What wasted effort. I pray they find a better path.

Like the Aquinas quotes. Pastor R.C. Sproul of Ligonier Ministries teaches of Aquinas. The unbelieving posts show the desperate need for the love of the Savior. It shows how a person uses their limited time on earth. Blessings.

You've hit upon the truthful nugget that explains the difference between people who have Christ in them & those who do not. We must also remember that we were once there, as well. There was a time in our lives when we might have been just as derisive of films like these, and their messages, for no other reason than that they make us face the reality of our eternal status, or lack thereof.

Why are people so angry and EMPTY and why do they actively bash this film?

Well...

man that is deep.

but the reality of being a christian ( or muslim) is, of course, much sadder: Believing in a god is in fact very egoistic: you basically want to live forever. If you cut away all the lovey dovey BS, there is just one thing that really matters to these people: the need for an eternal life in the heavens of their precious god. HALLELUJA!

In point of fact, to believe in God is to throw away your ego. It is to admit that you are not the center of universe. It is to recognize that you are the creation, not the Creator.

no it is not. Not believing in a god does not mean that you see yourself as the 'centre of the universe' lol who came up with that? (btw back in the day, the christians believed the earth was at the centre of the universe)

thanks to scientists, not theologists, we now know earth is just a spickle in the outerbounds of some galaxy; hardly the centre of the universe.

admit it: believing that there is an aferlife gives you comfort. so don't give me this crap about 'throwing away your ego'

Ignorant hate... the same kind of stuff that some Christians spew about all sorts of topics ranging from liberalism to why hurricanes happen?

You should all watch a movie called "Lord, Save Us From Your Followers" - you might learn something about why your own behavior drives more people from Christianity than towards it. Despite the somewhat deceptive title, it's actually a Christian film, written and directed by Christians. In the last half it gives props to people like Nick Warren and several Christian movements who are operating here and abroad, and if all Christians were more like the people touted as shining examples in the film the world, or at least the USA, would be a much better place.

It's good to see 2014 filled with movie that honor faith and that they are doing well at the box office. This film was ahead of it's time in a way.

"Life goes by pretty fast. If you don't stop to look around once in a while, you could miss it."
