The one monster that genuinely looked scary to me was...

The librarian. The evil eyes, crooked teeth, old grouchy lady look.

Anyone else have one?

She looked remarkably like my high school librarian, lol, for real! I can see how she could be scary! Most of the monsters, though, aren't scary, not to me, anyway. A lot of them, even the ones who pride themselves the most on being scary, are actually cute, whether they'd want to hear that or not.

That's exactly how I feel. Most of the monsters looked cute, I guess being a Pixar kids movie, it has to be.

They also conveniently make great cute toys for children, which parents could end up buying.

U just have to imagine them ad real horrifying slime monsters. To say u wouldn't be scared if sully roared u awake shaking ur house looking more like Bigfoot then a blue beast would shock or scare the sheet out a u

I thought the scarer who looks like a cute puffy ball and then brings her legs out to look like a spider was scary. Mostly cause she looks like a spider so if I saw her I'd freak out. Sully's resemblance to a bear would also make him scary. But yeah in general I don't think many of them actually look scary.

The scariest things in the movie were the human child simulators. Those things were creepy, especially the one that woke up and looked around before it got scared.

TRUTH!
Those dummies were freaky. I too found them scarier than any of the monsters. ;P Although, the librarian IS close. That gargantuan slug-woman reminded me of some particularly terrifying Spongebob character.

Hope she was retired from Scaring, because she would've been a chart-topper for as many years as she worked, no question.

SERIOUSLY! I don't scare easily. I taught jr. high for 28 years, after all, and I keep spiders and snakes as pets, but I really do not think I'd want to have one of those simulator robots in MY house! I bet there's been at least one horror movie series in the Monster World about some of those things coming to life and slaughtering monsters.

Glad I'm not alone! Those things were definitely unsettling. Much more so than the ones in Inc. which weren't really scary at all.

Mr Waternoose is wicked creepy

Dean Hardscrabble was scary for me; I dislike creepy crawlies.

Why ain't you at the garden party you heathen?

reply

Yes, she was pretty horrifying. Imagine her popping out of your closet? She looked like a demon!
