Revenge of the nerds. It's as if they werent even trying to hide it, like they were daring someone to notice. Well I noticed alright, and I noticed something else too. MU is nowhere near as good a film as ROTN, not as good as Monster's Inc either for that matter. 6.5 stars. I laughed 2 or 3 times but there was a startling lack of originality and humor .

Wasnt interested in seeing it at the theater and just finally got around to watching it on Netflix. Ya, I get the point that I missed all of the initial discussions from when the film first opened. Is it a general consensus that the film stole its entire plot from ROTN?
shareNo. It's a general consensus-and the film's producers admit it-that it PAYS HOMAGE to ROTN, as well as National Lampoon's Animal House, a movie that came out long before ROTN, and which ROTN was accused of "ripping off", ironically. There is a difference between giving a "nod" to a previous movie and "ripping it off".
