The whole “Mike isn’t scary” thing is total nonsense. Now I know they had to set the story up in a way that Sully becomes the scarer and Mike is just the tube provider or whatever. But near the end of the movie when Sully, the Dean, and others make a huge deal out of Mike just not being scary, that's a load of garbage. Maybe to other monsters, he isn't, but to humans, without a doubt he would be. First of all, he's a lot scarier than those others monsters from Oozma Kappa without a doubt, and we're supposed to believe that Sully didn't need to cheat and change the settings of the scare simulator for them too? Then when the humans aren't scared of Mike but instead chase him, give me a break! Any living person who saw a strange green spherical creature with horns and one eye would be terrified out of their wits. With Sully, you could even assume it was a costume but not with Mike, no way. And, again, I know that obviously not everyone can be a scarer since they are almost like rockstars in the monster world, but the fact that the kids in the end weren’t scared of him made no sense. If I saw that coming out of my closet at night (or pretty much just anything in my closet for that matter) I would be terrified. So yeah, I enjoyed this movie but the plotline of Mike not being scary kind of annoyed me.
