No one will talk to you
That’s unrealistic and stupid. Film suffers as a result. Where’s the dialogue?

shareI'm watching it now and not loving it. It started out pretty good but it's gotten silly and annoying without any dialog and with the ENTIRE town not speaking to this young woman. I'll watch it for a little while longer and then probably FF it to the end, unless it gets better.
shareI finished it without FF and, to be honest, I ended up actually liking it. To me, it got better as it went along. It certainly would have been better if there was dialog, but I guess they were trying for something new and different. If you think about it, how much could the protagonist have said while being pursued by aliens? Her facial expressions said it all. There definitely should have been dialog when she went into town, though. That was the only part that really annoyed me.
I liked the ending very much. On one hand, it was upsetting that the earth was taken over, but on the other hand, this poor girl, who accidentally killed her childhood friend and was ostracized all of her life for it, was finally happy and accepted. Pure fantasy but I got it.
lol, before you posted that spoiler I was going to ask if anyone saved her.
I watched a film a few months ago with a similar plot where the woman fights off an alien, escapes, but the earth is invaded.

Yeah, the aliens read her mind, saw what happened when she was a child and how she was treated her whole life from then on, so they decided to leave her alone. I'm editing this to say that they saw that she killed a human, which was OK by them, and THAT is why they decided to leave her alone. My initial rationale for them releasing her was wrong.
I haven't seen Significant Other. Is it any good?
Watching Kaitlyn Dever, I don't know if there are many who can exhibit such a non-verbal sign of despair when walking than she can just by just body language.
shareI thought she did a great job, given she couldn't speak and has to use her face and body to convey every emotion and thought. The only other actress I've seen with such amazing facial expressions is Sarah Polley.
shareShe's a great actress.
shareWhy the blacked out sentences. Makes you look stupid.
