Not bad, mixed feelings. If you know Desi culture, you might appreciate more

This movie was alright, it played on some tropes and stereotypes especially if you are familiar with Desi / Indian subcontinent immigrant culture. You got the wild liberated daughter that goes along with the traditional pressures of family, the nerdy Indian boy who is naively innocent and a bit out of touch. The setting of the early pandemic days and the anxiety it imposed on us is used here to force the plot line. A lot happens here as you would expect. Ultimately I think the ending could have been a bit more nuanced and realistic, rather than what I think was implied which feels like the easy cop-out.

There are real funny moments in this, and some honest diving into cultural expectations and our personal boundaries etc. It's a short running time, so I think it's worth checking out.
