Did the character seem rather dumb?

I was just wondering if most of the characters except for Owl were portrayed as rather dumb since Winnie the Pooh couldn't spell properly or read.

My only problem is Kanga who should be at least a bit wiser than all of them (Owl is an idiot, but he talks a smart game) But remember that they are all personalities in the mind of Christopher Robin so they really won't be any smarter than he is.

I don't think they are dumb, just a bit naive. Things have always been simple in the 100 Acre Woods. The characters merely reflect their surroundings. And it's always been more about heart and soul rather than being smart.
