Overlooked by the Golden Globes

How does everybody feel about this getting overlooked for a Golden Globe nomination? I was surprised and disappointed when I saw that it didn't make the cut. Of course I knew that Tintin and Arthur Christmas were going to be nominated and though I still haven't seen either of them, I'm sure that they deserved it. Haven't seen Rango or Puss in Boots yet either (I'm disappointed with myself over how slow I've been at watching animated movies this year). Though I've heard bad things about Rango, I'm not surprised to see it nominated based on its critical reviews. Puss in Boots was more of a surprise though. If they were going to nominate a DreamWorks film, I thought for sure that it would be Kung Fu Panda 2. Cars 2 was probably only nominated out of respect for Pixar and not because anybody really thought that the film itself actually deserved recognition. Personally I didn't care much for it and thought that Winnie the Pooh deserved the nomination much more. Hopefully the Academy Awards will make better choices.

If the Globes didn't give it the respect it deserved, I highly doubt the Academy Awards will do any better.

Oh well. In the words of the Hudson Hornet, it's just an empty cup.

This Pooh film did better than any award can ever recognize.

"Atlas Shrugged- Part 1"- NOW on DVD!

I am glad to see the film getting nominated in other award circles. In fact, I think the Globes are the only ones who haven't acknowledge the film, so far. It may not be winning anything, but it has been nominated quite a few times, which makes me happy, regardless, and proves that people have seen the film and enjoyed it.

I do hope it gets nominated for some type of Oscar. If not for best animated, then at least one of the songs should be nominated. They were all spectacular. And of course it should win!!!!!

The Golden Globes are an excuse for a bunch of foreign journalists to invite movie stars, in order to get drunk and hang out with them. Even their host, Ricky Gervais, will tell you that. Picking Puss in Boots over Kung Fu Panda 2, is just picking Antonio Banderas over Jack Black. And.. minors are not invited.

The real shame is that Winnie didn't get even a nomination in the Annies (in the Animated Feature category).

I can't believe it on account I really liked this movie.

"Are you sure you want to play this game?"
"I'm afraid you'd lose"
