Gopher?

Just wondering if anyone knew why Gopher was not in this movie?

reply

Probably because he's "not in the book"...

reply

Gopher wasn't in the original source material, in the book, a fact he always reminds people of actually! This movie was clearly an attempt to be nostalgic and accurate and stuff. I have to admit though, I was always impressed by Gopher cuz he was a good character despite being all not-in-the-book-ish.

reply

I believe he held out for more money and they wrote around him.

reply

I heard he's locked into doing the "Love Boat" remake

(actually, I'm not even familiar with "gopher". He must've come in after Tigger at some point.)

reply

Actually, he came in BEFORE Tigger.

reply

Was he a victim of the blustery day? It's been ages since I've seen that.

The first time we see Gopher is in "Winnie the Pooh and the Honey Tree", when Pooh is stuck in Rabbit's little bunny hole door after eating too much honey. Gopher pops out of the ground and he has a lunch box, and he tells Pooh everything he has in his lunch box, it turns out he has a honey pot in his lunch box and he's about to give Pooh some honey, and Rabbit overhears this and is like "HONEY?! OH NO!!!!" then Rabbit runs outside, takes the honey pot away and nails a sign in the ground that says "DON'T FEED THE BEAR!!!!!"

lol.

reply
