So yeah....

This was snubbed. KFP2 and Puss were fun, but they weren't better than this one.

I feel like this film, obviously aimed at very young children, was unfairly compared to Dreamworks' fare this year. Pooh is among the best reviewed films of the year. Ah well, at least it's great.

Terrible news. I had such high hopes.

The Academy is almost too predictable. Their snubbing of Pooh doesn't surprise me. It had no social message, no pop culture references or historical/sociological framework. It was just good, clean fun with good clean humor and good clean animation.

Now if it had been computer-generated, Pooh had tried to combat his obesity while Rabbit battled his alcoholism and Roo broke down and admitted he'd been molested by Eeyore, then it would run away with an armload of little gold statues.

Fair trade, I say. Pleasing the population is a lot more rewarding than a plastic, faceless little man on the mantle.

Boy, if this wasn't where I put my signature, I'd really let you have it!

I'm already over it. Let's put it behind us. No sense in dwelling over the reasons why it wasn't nominated. As mentioned above, it will be a timeless classic, pleasing many for years to come. And I want another movie, soon!

Pooh did win an Oscar ages ago for The Blustery Day, and that's good enough for me.

And on another note, I work for the Disney store here in New Orleans and Pooh merchandise sells like crazy. There's no question he's here to stay forever.
