Stuffed vs real
Why are some of the characters (Pooh, Piglet and Tigger) portrayed as stuffed animals while others (Rabbit, Owl, Gopher) are realistic animals?

shareThe cartoons/movies are based on the classic stories by A.A. Milne, "Winnie The Pooh" and "The House At Pooh Corner", in which the author's young son and his stuffed toys (Pooh, Piglet, Eeyore, Tigger, Kanga, and Roo) would have adventures in the Hundred Acre Wood. Rabbit and Owl are denizens of the Wood and are somewhat "smarter" than the stuffed animals, though Eeyore, being stuffed with sawdust instead of fluff, is probably the most philosophical of the "stuffies". As for Gopher, the animated catchphrase is "I'm not in the book, y'know", as he is not featured in any of the above two books. However, there is a poem by Milne (IIRC) which mentions Samuel J. Gopher, but don't quote me on that. :)
