Milne only wrote two books, so it would be kinda hard to constantly come up with original material. That, and the fact that most Pooh fans would not tolerate something that was not essential to Pooh's stories. The tv show did a lot of that and it was okay, but most of the time, it felt strange seeing Pooh and his friends out of their element.
The real point being can we take this exact story and make it something original and fresh. I think Disney has achieved that with this film. The stories might be recycled, but they still have a classic feel and have been changed just enough to keep them on the modern side as well.
A little Consideration, a little Thought for Others, makes all the difference. Eeyore
