What is infamous about Thanksgiving?

Our world is awash in ignorance. This topic’s introduction describes Thanksgiving as being “infamous.” Where is the infamy in giving thanks?

If we accept a world informed by ignorance and even proud and aggressive stupidity, then we get what we deserve. Not me, boyhowdy.

I think it's the Black Friday shopping sales as opposed to the holiday itself that is referred to as being infamous. Though given their association for some it may have some bleed in and tarnish the Thanksgiving name.
