A large quibble

The last few films i've seen with musicians as subjects, they insist on the actor pretending to be competent on the piano. Please stop !

I think this is a very interesting film, but watching Kate plink out a couple of notes, as somehow representative of what a composer would be doing is just, well, horribly inept.

The old way of shooting over the piano works just fine. It seriously mars the performance for me, anyway. They give her beautiful words & insights to say, taking us inside the world of elite classical artistry, and then she sits down at the keys and taps out a B and then a G, then a 7th chord. C'mon guys. It breaks character.
