Frankly, I'm getting sick of all the hook-ups the Heck kids are experiencing, Sue especially. She's always been presented as a young, naive girl, one who's rarely noticed by anyone. But in the last few seasons, she's gone through men like a hot knife through butter...including coming on to a much-older professor, and that made for a cringeworthy episode. Just this season alone, there's been one boyfriend, with another waiting in the wings.

And what happened to Axl and the "love of his life?" He not only married and divorced her, he dumped her afterward. And we're supposed to cheer that he found still ANOTHER chick to date for only a short time? The writers are really digging at the bottom of the barrel with this revolving door for Axl's girlfriends.

And what the hell happened to Cindy? She's disappeared. We never see Brick at school, so he might as well be a drop out. No exploitation of his freshman year in high school at all.

Outside of tossing in a few sentimental pieces in every now and again, The Middle is definitely showing its age. It's already running on fumes, so I don't expect there'll be a 10th season.

April wasn't necessarily the "love of his life". I don't believe they never confirmed that's who Frankie was talking about.
I'm enjoying the romantic part of the show. It would be weird for them not to be dating different people, and it would be boring if they only dated one person season after season.

reply

Mrs. T, Aren't you the same one in the archives here who says every season will be the last, Scary Mary? Your hate for the show is all over the archives.

reply

My name is Mrs. Taggart, not "Scary Mary." You're a moron.

reply

She is older now, at college. Believe it or not, many people go through a number of relationships at college. What's the big deal?

reply

She was already asked to get married when she was still in high school. Come on. "What the big deal?"

reply

And she turned him down because she didn't want to be tied down at college. Duh!

reply

Exactly. So what does she do? Go through men like a hot knife through butter in college. She's been there two years and has already had three boyfriends and is working on a fourth. The writers have abandoned Sue's uniqueness and is making her like any other young person in college. That's a bad move and shows a lack of imagination and direction.
