I just noticed it tonight. Also used for the Dragonfly Inn on Gilmore Girls. All three shows are from Warner Bros, so filmed on their backlot.

shareYep - it's the exterior. And not the original exterior, either - the original Waltons house facade burned down in the 80s, and Warner Bros rebuilt it for the TV movies in the 90s. Then, they modified it for Gilmore Girls - extending the upstairs floor on top of Grandma and Grandpa's room on the side of the house, adding shutters, and repainting the whole thing.

shareThat is not at all true. They just had a facade for the Walton's House and it was destroyed after filming of the series ended.
Sorry but you must be thinking of Little House On The Prairie. Landon destroyed the set. The Walton home was used in many different shows including Gilmore Girls.
