It is astonishing

how many bitch about the decline in quality, how this show must end, how it should have ended, how it jumped the shark, how inappropriate the incest jokes are, and yadyadayada...

You are awre, that it is up to you to change the channel (who still watches Tv anyways?) and be done with it, right? Sure complain about it, cause it is your right, but why would you continiue to watch it if you don´t like it?
That makes no friggin sense

I'll never understand the logic of people like that. So they feel as if the show is declining so it must end and no one else who disagrees with their statements should be able to watch it anymore? What painful irrefutable entitlement issues.

This show seems to get it a lot. It's quite simple, if you don't like the show, don't watch it. But they'll continue coming back week after week to make the same complaints. Maybe it's for attention, or maybe they think their opinions actually matter (more entitlement). Who knows man.

I do understand the wish of some fans to end the show before it becomes a stale insult to the brilliant golden years of the show. It could happen to Modern Family if it stays on too long.
But in my opinion the show is still funny, it still has life in it. I think Modern Family has another year or two before it has to worry about that.
It can't go on forever though.

reply

Same. I'm hoping for 10 seasons.

and another one thinks it has at least 5 more years, another fan might think 12 years.

So it is up to personal opinion, and I do get the need to voice ones opinion. But hey, just move on after you told everyone it is *beep* now (once).

For me this is akin to reboots. Even if the reboot is the biggest pile of horse manure ever seen by mankind, the original remains untouched if you choose so

It seems like this is kinda a lot like southpark in the sense they poke fun at and take jabs at current pop culture events. If something is happening in the news that's current this show will normally make jokes about it, or something of that sort.

Point is, when it comes to that technically it can name get old as the plots basically constantly come.

reply

Well viewership is about half of what it was during season 3, so many have changed the channel

those who complain here are upset that what was once a very creative and clever show in how to get you to laugh has become much less

What do you want them to do? Become like Star Wars fans and pretend that every episode js as great as the earlier ones? Don't complain, and just thank the show for continuing?

you must not know many star wars fans. we definitely do not pretend the prequels are as good as the originals.

reply

Actually there are plenty that do. I've heard plenty of people insist that Jar Jar was meant to be hated and that the awful romantic dialogue was meant to represent Anakin's youth and inexperience.

"The Astonishing", an epic 2-hour progressive rock opera by Dream Theater, is a great album

you think?
Personally, for me it is one of ther more generic and boring albums.
I prefer the mid 2000 stuff like "train of thought"
