Annoying shaky camera angles
What's that with the zoom in zoom out constantly with comedy series these days?! And the so many camera turns......

shareI don't know the reason, and it doesn't bother me (I've seen posts by people who say it does) but people might want to try using the audio description. Even if one doesn't have a visual impairment, it makes it possible to pay less attention to the screen by describing some of the actions and scenes.
I was once searching through the still pictures on the Modern Family homepage for views of the room they never show us - to the right of the Dunphy's front door coming in. In the process I "discovered" the passage between the kitchen and the hallway, beyond the ovens. Then I was going through all the photos looking for a better view of that. (Also the wall to the left of the fireplace in the front room, where it turns in for a short distance and has a narrow window and curtains.) At some point I realized that I wasn't looking at the TV screen very much, they show that space (those spaces) all the time, but generally only briefly while people are moving through. Since then I make a point of looking at the screen more. But having the audio description on, when I remember it, sometimes makes me aware of things that I don't notice otherwise. Last week I found that it helped me watching Scream Queens, because when the scenes changed it told the setting of the new scene, and between the few episodes and the long time off, I'm not familiar with all the old and new places on the show.
My very long post near the bottom of this thread describes the audio description that I am referring to:

You're a little late with this complaint, aren't you? TV has been doing that pretentious crap for the past decade.
I couldn't even watch Modern Family the first few years because I was so annoyed by all the unnecessary camera zoom-ins and zoom-outs. So glad I finally broke down and started watching it in 2012, now I love the show. I still wish they'd drop the mockumentary style filmmaking, but truth be told, I've gotten so used to it, I barely notice anymore.
The reason is that I haven't seen comedies as The Office, Modern Family and Brooklyn Nine-Nine before. Most of the time I watch drama or crime series....so I wasn't get used to this style of filming. I can't watch it, because the quick change of images makes me feel comfortable and sick.
(Just like movies as Cloverfield, Project X and Blair Witch....)
I don't blame you, I hate it too. But like I said, if you watch MF long enough, you get so used to it that you stop noticing it.
shareit's shaky partly because it's a single-camera show
